From May 16 to 19, the cities of Martigues, Fos-sur-Mer and Châteauneuf-les Martigues, in the Bouche du Rhône region, will be the scene of the DOMINO exercise. This is a large-scale civil security exercise, bringing together more than 1,000 members of the rescue forces from multiple countries of the European Union.

The new alert system, FR-Alert, currently being deployed at the national level, will be tested for the first time in the field with the population, during this exercise. The cellular short message broadcasting technology, newly available from metropolitan operators, will be activated during this simulation in real conditions.

The PAM FR-Alert, Intersec's multi-channel alert portal, allows authorities to rapidly broadcast on a large scale, or on more targeted geographical areas, alerts in the form of short messages to the cell phones of the individuals concerned in the event of risk or major event. The same portal consolidates other alert channels, including the SAIP sirens, social networks, websites, etc...

Thus, between May 16 and 19, if you are in the vicinity of the DOMINO exercise, depending on your phone, you will see a notification on your phone accompanied by a sound signal, even if your phone is in silent mode. Since this is an exercise, no action or sheltering behavior will be required.

The new FR-Alert population alert system will be fully operational throughout France in June of this year.
