Intersec attended the annual meeting of the Partner2Connect Digital Coalition held in Geneva on January 30, 2025. This event brought together representatives from public and private organizations worldwide committed to connectivity issues. Intersec had the opportunity to express its commitment to accelerating the adoption of mobile network-based alert systems.

Each speaker's time was limited to two minutes; we have transcribed the speech here:

"Every individual exposed to natural disaster risks, regardless of their location or the time of day, should be instantly alerted. This is within our reach. Yet, less than a quarter of countries have mobile early warning systems in place.

Unfortunately, disasters aren't breaking news—they're our new normal. Did you know that countries with limited warning systems have disaster mortality rates multiplied by 6? Every minute we delay, lives are at risk.

Here's a fact: 80% of the global population owns a mobile phone. This isn't just a communication device—it's a potential lifeline during emergencies.

At Intersec, our mission is clear: ensure that the majority of individuals can receive alert messages on their mobile phone. Currently, our solutions cover 400 million people around the world. We want to help accelerate the adoption of mobile EWS to ensure that no community is left behind.

Technology-wise, we emphasize an easily implementable, user-centric and multi-channel approach to emergency warnings leveraging proven technologies - Cell Broadcast and Location-based SMS – and global standards, particularly the Common Alerting Protocol.

Our initial $100,000 financial commitment will fuel extensive advocacy campaigns, project consultations, and expert publications.

To conclude, as climate-related crises continue to increase in frequency and intensity, we have a responsibility to implement robust early warning systems that rely on mobile technologies to be better prepared."
